Overview
The 2024 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL are behemoth SUVs, with truck-like utility and maximal luxury. Launched in 2014, the "XL" in Yukon XL stands for "extended length." The most significant difference between the GMC Yukon and the aptly named Yukon XL is the length of the vehicle. The 2024 GMC Yukon measures 210 inches and rides on a wheelbase measuring 120.9 inches long. By contrast, the larger 2024 Yukon XL is 225.2 inches in length with a 134.1-inch wheelbase. Each version is offered in five trims—the SLE, SLT, AT4, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. Yukon buyers will find three engine choices for 2024, including two V8s and a turbo diesel inline-6. All Yukon models come with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Real World Performance
GMC built the Yukon and Yukon XL with the capability and power you’d expect from the brand, wrapped in an incredibly lavish package. Three engine options mean you can choose the Yukon that meets your needs best. A standard 5.3-liter V8 engine offers a balance between power, efficiency, and capability. When paired with 2-wheel drive and the Max Trailering Package on the SLE & SLT models, you can maximize towing with up to 8,400 pounds of capacity. Stepping up to the 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo diesel delivers brute strength and exciting performance. The 6.2-liter V8 offers simplicity and power, while still delivering excellent towing.
Drivers who want more versatility and off-road prowess will love available options like the AutoTrac® two-speed transfer case and traction select system. Both give the driver more control over how the Yukon responds to the terrain and driver inputs. Those who want to maximize off-road capability should choose the AT4 trim, with the available Active Response 4WD system.
